Bernhardts & my dad Empty Bernhardts & my dad

Recently started contributing now and again to the blog Worn & Wound. In a piece I just wrote about Bernhardt watches, I snapped a photo of my three Bernhardts and, well, I just thought it was cool. Why? One, I dig the watches. Two, the watches are laying on a photo dated August 1970 from a fishing trip my dad took with his buddies. My pops is the big dude rockin' the dark shades. So, I'm not sure if this is technically sound as far as photos go, but I thought it was one of the best I've ever taken!

Great photo. Your dad looks like the late Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn.

It means your son might grow up to abuse alcohol, make cheesy karate flicks and have a brother along the line that was a funny actor but turned into a tree hugging hypocrite with a passion for latino men in high places.

I will insist he says, "kuh-rah-TAY" when he pronounces the word. You know, add authenticity and give him instant credibility among his peers.

"Es nuestro Tiempo, Senor Hand."

Thanks for the kudos, again. I think whoever took the picture in 1970 is the real hero.

But, Bernhardts ARE the shit...great, affordable watches. And Fred Amos is an awesome guy who is definitely dedicated to providing top-notch service.

+1. I bought one of his divers second-hand, I don't recall the model's name but it was the 200m diver with the ETA 2836. The rotor jammed up inside the case, and I emailed Fred and sent the watch to him, which he repaired, at no charge, and had it back to me within two weeks.
